Brazil: 9-Year-Old Has Abortion Despite Church’s Objections

What is the Church thinking? The local bishop's opposition to the 9 year old having an abortion is based on what he calls "God's law" which states that we shall not kill. How convenient. Of course we must not recall the Crusades or the many wars or ethnic cleansings around the world which have their origins in the religious views of those in power or who have the support of the "Holy Church". It is beyond sickeneing for a man with no family but the one he chose out of commitment to religion to attempt to interfere in a matter whose outcome must surely have as its only consideration the well being of the 9 year old. God save us all from the Church.
